Services

Residential Conveyancing

We can help to guide you through the confusion and complexity involved in buying and selling your house.

We recommend that you contact us as soon as possible after you have decided to embark upon such a transaction and we can guide you through the whole process.

We have been involved in a significant number of transactions involving the Help to Buy Scheme offered by the Scottish Government and can provide extensive advice to our clients interested in pursuing this method of  assisted funding.

Commercial Conveyancing

For our business clients, our services extend to the sale and purchase of commercial enterprises, their business premises and/or goodwill, including offices, shops, licensed premises (public houses, hotels and restaurants), nursing homes, factories, warehouses and so on.  We also carry out many transactions transferring assets into and out of Self Invested Pension Plans (SIPP) and Small Self-administered Pension Schemes (SSAS) and would be happy to explain this in more detail.

Our services also include commercial leasing and we can assist in the very complex procedures concerning renewal, rent reviews, dilapidation and the obligations normally taken on by a tenant of business premises.

Estate Agency

We offer a very competitive estate agency package.  A member of the Estate Agency team will be delighted to assist you with any matter, from a simple question to a full discussion concerning the package we can offer.

Agricultural Law

We can offer a full range of services to agricultural clients; including acquisition and disposal of farms, agricultural land and forestry, advice regarding agricultural tenancies, and renewable energy agreements, (e.g Wind Farms).  We can also offer our clients advice regarding Wills, Trusts and Succession Planning.

Wills, Trusts & Executries

The importance of making a Will cannot be overstressed. Each Will is tailor made for the client, taking into consideration his or her personal financial circumstances, family and tax considerations.

After death it is important to those who are left behind that the estate is administered both efficiently and sympathetically. It involves obtaining Valuations of all the assets of the estate, agreeing the tax liability, petitioning the court for the appointment of an executor, applying for Confirmation, engathering the assets and administering them according to the Will or, if no Will, in terms of the law of succession. Where Trusts are created, we can assist in the administration and accounting process of the Trust as well as providing advice for the Trustees.

Powers of Attorney & Guardianships

In dealing with the personal affairs of clients it is appropriate to mention Powers Of Attorney and Court Orders available to enable relatives, friends, or professional advisors to administer the affairs of elderly or infirm persons who, for whatever reason, are unable to manage their own affairs.

Matrimonial & Family Law

It is an unfortunate fact in life that not all marriages are successful and the breakdown of a marriage/relationship often results in additional issues which require resolution.

We can advise you in relation to divorces, separation, interdicts, domestic violence, adoption, Co-habitation Law and Agreements, contact arrangements and so on.

Many clients wishing to take proceedings in matrimonial or child cases will be eligible for Legal Aid; we are registered to carry out Civil Legal Aid.

Company Law

For our business clients we can offer advice and services regarding company incorporation, management/administration, taxation, contracts and liabilities of the company and its directors.

Whatever your business and its structure you will require advice on many topics including the negotiation and preparation of contracts for the supply of goods and services, employment contracts for your staff, methods of raising capital, improving the efficiency of your business through careful monitoring of the accounts, protecting trade secrets, processes and inventions, taxation, insurance, and the purchase or leasing of premises.

Residential Leasing

The legislation relating to residential leases has changed considerably in the last few years with more changes still to come into force.  It is very important to seek advice if you intend to lease your property or to take on a new lease, to ensure that you are complying with the most recent regulations.

We can provide our clients with informative advice and prepare all the necessary documentation required.

We have a wide range of experience in dealing with civil litigation matters; including employment law, contract disputes, debt recovery and property conflicts.
